Hi my name is Donna and I run 'Yogabellies with Donna' in the Bedford and South Northant's area. Life is mad right now right but I am looking forward to welcoming you to the mat, when restrictions allow. Until then, online is the way forward, which in many ways can be much more in tune with busy lives. My love of yoga began in my late twenties it feels many moons ago now, but once you try it, feel the calm and the good it brings you, you never forget or want that feeling to end. Fast forward XX years and I am now the proud owner of a husband and two young girls aged 5 and 7, who also enjoy yoga and boy does it calm them down sometimes. Its a great way to spend time together and they come in handy for stretching more deeply into a pose whether you like it or not..... Women go through so many changes in their lives from painful periods, stressful careers, infertility, pregnancy, menopause to name a few and many health matters related to all of those. It’s hard to sail through without some scars, be it mental health, stress, or failing bodies but I’m here to help you. I have a class that will suit you, whatever age, shape or stage of life. Don’t be shy we all have to start somewhere. I am not the thinnest or most flexible lady in the room but that’s ok, my yoga is personal to me and yoga is called a practice for a reason. Start a life where you don’t have to struggle with aches and pains, by strengthening your BAPS! (all will become clear). Calm your mind with some meditation, breathing and aromatherapy, prepare for birth by strengthening your muscles and practicing your birthing breath. Manage your hormones in a natural way and I promise you, you will feel more in control of your health and wellbeing.
Let me take you to a place you’ll love, imagine walking into class (ok not right now but hopefully soon,…stay with me). The lights are low, there are some lovely twinkly lights, oh and that smell, the smell of ‘calm’. You feel like you have walked into a spa, that’s the aromatherapy diffuser, softly spraying oils into the air. The strains of the day slowly disperse, your shoulders lower and relax and that ‘me’ time you have been promising is happening. Once your practice of stretching and strengthening those muscles, toning your body is complete you can lay down, yes lay down in Shavasana and relax in blankets, an eye mask………then SLEEP!
P.S. Don’t worry I will wake you up before I lock up….
Along the way you will find a supportive and friendly environment and meet a group of women who support each other, and hopefully when back in venue we get to have a yogi tea after and a natter to share stories together.
