Hi, my name is Georgie Ward and I am so excited to welcome you to one of my Yogabellies classes. If this is your first time searching for a Yogabellies class, then you aren’t alone as 86% of ladies joining a Yogabellies class have never practiced yoga before! Heres’ a little bit about me….I am Mummy to two small people Daisy and Hugo and it was after the birth of my youngest that I decided to retrain as a Yoga teacher. My background is in the life sciences and after 12 years in a fast paced corporate healthcare career I soon realised that the impact it was having on my health both mentally and physically was not serving me well. So I turned to yoga! I started practicing yoga to help combat my stress levels, but it was my pregnancy yoga classes that really inspired me to teach one day. Attending my pregnancy yoga classes gave me time for me, time to forget about work, connect with my baby and also prepare myself for birth. It also gave me a safe place to talk about the birth, share my feelings and make new Mummy friends who were in the same boat as me. The classes were invaluable and in becoming a Yogabellies teacher I want to be able to share the benefits to other women and help guide them through their pregnancy and postnantal journeys. I completed my 300 hour advanced yoga teacher training with the Yogabellies school and am a certified yoga teacher, accredited by Yoga Alliance International specialising in various stages of womens health, including yoga for the menstrual cycle, Pregnancy, Postnatal and menopause.
