With the Restore Rawai Retreat just around the corner, I wanted to share with you some fascinating information about the feminine yoga tradition in Thailand. As we immerse ourselves in yoga and wellness practices during our retreat, it’s important to understand the rich cultural heritage that underpins these practices.

Yoga has been an integral part of Thai culture for centuries and has undergone many transformations throughout its history. In particular, the practice of feminine yoga, or “Lanna Yoga,” has a long and interesting history.

Lanna Yoga originated in Northern Thailand during the Lanna Kingdom (1259-1763) and was primarily practiced by women. The practice was passed down through generations of female healers, who used yoga to maintain their physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

Lanna Yoga focuses on gentle, flowing movements and incorporates meditation and breathwork to cultivate inner peace and harmony. It is said to balance the body’s energy, promoting physical and emotional wellbeing.

The feminine yoga tradition of Thailand is deeply rooted in the belief that women hold a unique power and energy that can be harnessed through the practice of yoga. It is a celebration of the divine feminine and a recognition of the strength and resilience of women.

During our Restore Rawai Retreat, we will have the opportunity to experience the beauty and power of feminine yoga firsthand. We’ll be practicing yoga in a stunning beachfront location, surrounded by the natural beauty of Thailand.

Cheryl will guide us through a range of yoga practices, including Lanna Yoga, helping us to connect with our inner selves and cultivate a sense of balance and harmony.

I’m so excited to be a part of this incredible journey with you and can’t wait to experience the transformative power of feminine yoga together.
