As time does indeed march on, it’s inevitable that people see some visible signs of aging over time. While a combination of genetics, stress, diet, and other environmental factors play a role in how noticeably the skin ages, there are several steps one can take that will slow down the skin’s aging and reduce existing wrinkles and age spots.

The best part is that many all-natural substances provide a wealth of potent antioxidants that help keep the skin supple and smooth in appearance. A concoction of a few ingredients promise to enhance your skin over time and seemingly turn back the hands of time.

Superb DIY Anti-Aging Serum

Packing a true powerhouse of both vitamins and essential fatty acids, borage oil has shown to be highly effective as a natural skin plumper. Borage oil works nicely in conjunction with hazelnut oil, which is rich in vitamins A and K.

As a bonus, hazelnut oil contains compounds that act to protect the epidermis from UVA and UVB rays of the sun in the same way as a sunscreen. And protecting the skin while in direct sunlight certainly aids in keeping the skin youthful in the long-run.

Simply mix hazelnut oil and borage oil at a 2:1 ratio. For an additional boost, you can add no more than three droplets each of an essential oil such as chamomile or lavender, which both soften the skin.

If you have any handy, stir a dime-sized amount of emu oil into the mix. Emu oil is a thick, rich oil that is loaded with vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids. It nourishes and hydrates the skin incredibly.

Decadent Wrinkle Reducer

If you prefer DIY anti-aging skincare that is heavier (very good for drier skin types), then opt for carrier oils such as avocado oil and sweet almond oil. They are dense and bring about visible improvement in wrinkling within a few applications.

Combine one ounce each of avocado and almond oil with 10 droplets of pure vitamin E oil. Now add in five droplets each of sandalwood and grapefruit essential oils to revitalize and brighten sallow skin. Massage into the skin in upward strokes.

Rejuvenating Nightly Skin Oil

To firm the skin, another option is rosehip oil. This magnificent oil not only minimizes the look of fine lines and wrinkles but also imparts a healthy glow to the skin. M

Mix together two ounces of rosehip oil to one ounce of hemp seed oil, which contains generous amounts of skin-smoothing gamma-linolenic acid. Gently massage this into your skin around bedtime.

A Lighter Approach

If you like very light products on the skin, then a water-based alternative may suit you better. A rose water hydrosol can be distilled at home or purchased for very little money.

Then pour about half of a teaspoon of vitamin C powder (known as l-ascorbi acid) into a one-ounce bottle of the hydrosol.

Shake it up; this portable anti-aging toner can be sprayed onto skin any time of day.
